Mini Professors is an exciting programme that brings science to young children in an understandable format that they love. Covering a huge range of topics, our classes open up new concepts and encourage children to get hands on with science not just watching it. We actively encourage the development of a range of skills including scientific thinking, turn taking, socialising, sharing, answering questions and much more.

Fun, unique and most importantly interactive. With hands on experiments, stories and videos based around one of our 80 different science topics we take your child (and you!) on a scientific adventure. Don your labcoat, bring your curiosity and come to explore and marvel at the science that’s all around us.
You might think that 2 to 5-year olds are too young to learn Science, that they’re not ready yet but your amazing little learner has an incredibly scientific mind. Their innate curiosity and desire to work out what the world around them is doing makes them the very best Scientist! From the moment our babies start moving and interacting with the world they’re exploring and understanding what they see around them. Everything they see, touch, smell- it’s all science.
Maybe Science wasn’t your thing at school? Don’t worry, we are not taking you back to your GCSE science classroom, we promise! Many of our parents enjoy the sessions just as much as the little ones, learning new things and commenting “If only my science learning had been like this, I would have actually enjoyed Science!”
All our lessons have been thoroughly trialled and tested nationwide with thousands of growing Scientists. Our aim is to bring science to life for young children and we believe that to do the science is the most important thing. Getting your hands mucky, watching and observing what happens when you do this or that. Our sessions are fast paced and have distinct segments (intro, experiments, video and story) to keep your little ones engaged. While the topic changes each week, the routine does not so your Professor knows exactly what is coming next.
Watch them grow in confidence as you take them on their first steps of their learning journey, it’s a classroom but not quite as you remember it and you’ll be there with them every step of the way. What’s more we love it when our Professors continue to learn and share what they found out in class at home, many of our experiments are things you can re-create again later.
Holiday Clubs - run in school holidays - Cost: £30 per child - 9am-3.30pm
Your child will be able to join us for a full day of hands on experiments, activities, games, free play, fresh air and so much fun! Suitable for children 5-11 years. Book Here
Nursery Sessions
Our nursery sessions are suitable for up to 15 children age 2+.
A Mini Professors nursery session lasts for around 45 minutes and includes: singing, a small teaching section using props and photos to kept your children engaged, two hands on experiments for the children to carry out, a story linked to the theme and a short two minute video clip linked to the topic (this clip gives us time to clear up experiment 1 and set up experiment 2). I can come in weekly, termly or just for a special event.
What we need from the nursery:
*Access to water.
*Around 30 minutes to set up before each session.
*Space enough for Professor Lee to sit with the children around her on the floor for the teaching and story sections of the session and space enough nearby for two tuff trays to be set up for the experiments.
*Testimonial from the manager at Roseangle House Nursery:
“The children from Roseangle House Nursery love their sessions with Lee from Mini Professors. Professor Lee has very exciting and engaging sessions that capture the interests of all our children. She has a fun filled programme filled with lots of fun facts, experiments, stories, singing and much more! The children cannot wait until their next session and have begun to create their own sessions within the nursery creating their own experiments. Children said - "This is so cool", "Mini Professors is the best day ever", "I wish she could come every day", "I love what she teaches us".”

School Sessions, After School Clubs and Assemblies
There are so many ways we can come into your school and help your students to develop and nurture their passion for the STEM subjects. From delivering an action packed, interactive assembly to running individual topic sessions or jam packed science days – the possibilities are endless!
Individual school sessions cost around £100 (depending on number of children) and last 1 hour. Multiple sessions booked at the same time either for the same day or for regular dates throughout the school year, will be discounted.
A Mini Professors school session includes: a background science teaching section using props and photos to keep engagement high throughout, two hands on experiments for the children to carry out, a story linked to the theme and a short two minute video clip linked to the topic (this clip gives us time to clear up experiment 1 and set up experiment 2). We recommend numbers of around 20 children per session but can accommodate up to 30 for some topics.
Testimonials from school sessions:
“Professor Lee visited my Primary 1 class and did a workshop on the topic of acids and bases. Her whole workshop was amazing from start to finish. It included singing, a story, experiments and lots to think and learn about. I would highly recommend other schools or nursery settings to invite Lee in. She had such a lovely manner with the children and showed a real passion for her science topics. I even learned something new myself! Thank you so much for doing a great lesson for us.” Clare S
“It was fantastic having Professor Lee visiting our school. The kids loved it and she really goes above and beyond with the activities and inputs and the children were enjoying every second from start to finish! Could not recommend more for parties or school visit’s especially as it’s so appropriate for science lessons taught exceptionally 😊 thank you so much!” Francis S
Scouting and Girl Guiding Groups
If you help run a Scouting or Girl Guiding group why not get Mini Professors in to help you out with your science badge? We provide the equipment, the knowledge and the fun (we also take care of the clean up!)
For the younger groups, a session will cover all required criteria to gain their science badge. For the older groups, one session will help them work towards achieving their badge.
Sessions can accommodate up to 30 children although we recommend numbers closer to 20.
Sessions are charged at £100 (up to 20 children. £3 per extra child). This includes approximately 50 minutes of hands on experiments, exciting demonstrations and teaching of the background science (using props to keep engagement high throughout). We are happy to tailor the topic to the interests of your group. Multiple sessions at the same venue, on the same day, will be discounted. We can even carry out the session at camp as long as we have access to water and some relatively flat ground for our tray tables.
Run in our 'Wow Centre'. I am available to run at our own venue in Southill on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday evenings. If this is an option for you and your group, I only charge £90 instead of £100 per session.
